DEPARTMENT OF ORTHOPAEDICS AND TRAUMATOLOGY OF MUSCULOSKELETAL SYSTEM

About The Ward

We provide complex treatment of diseases and traumas of the locomotor system including sporting injuries. We offer a wide spectrum of procedures to our patients: joint arthroscopy (shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee, ankle), joint and spine endoscopy and surgical treatment of lower limbs.

In scope of surgical treatment, we specialize in minimally invasive procedures using arthroscopy and especially in reconstruction and repair of knee, hip, shoulder, ankle and wrist joints. We are the only hospital in the Subcarpathian Region providing treatment of spinal discopathy using minimally invasive methods and also minimally invasive foot correction procedure.

Thanks to cooperation with a leading manufacturer of hip joint and knee joint replacements we meet even the most demanding patient needs adjusting replacements to individual anatomical conditions, which facilitates optimal recreation of hip and knee joint biomechanics.

Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of the Locomotor System has 40 beds.

The specialists consult patients in Traumatology and Orthopaedics Outpatient Clinic.

ARTHROSCOPIC RECONSTRUCTIONS WITHIN SHOULDER JOINT:

  • Treatment of shoulder joint instability - Bankart injury, bony cap lesion - Latarjet procedure
  • Treatment of acromioclavicular joint instability using arthroscopy or open surgery Tenotomy or tenodesis of tendon origins of the long head of the biceps
  • Decompression of the subacromial space in course of compartment syndrome
  • Decompression of suprascapular nerve in course of compartment syndrome of the scapular notch area

ARTHROSCOPIC RECONSTRUCTIONS WITHIN KNEE JOINT:

  • Reconstruction of damaged cruciate ligaments: anterior and posterior using ENDOBUTTON method
  • Reconstruction of damaged anterior cruciate ligament using ENDOBUTTON 4-channel anatomical method
  • Reconstruction of damaged ligament elements of the knee joint (anterior and posterior cruciate ligament, posterolateral complex) using synthetic polyester LARS implant
  • Simultaneous reconstruction of multi-ligament damage

SHOULDER JOINT REPLACEMENTS:

  • Primary hemiarthroplasty, post-traumatic arthroplasty, total anatomical arthroplasty, total reverse arthroplasty

KNEE JOINT REPLACEMENTS:

  • Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty of Oxford type
  • Primary total knee arthroplasty (non-cemented and cemented)

SURGICAL TREATMENT OF UPPER LIMBS

  • Surgical decompression of peripheral nerve (carpal tunnel)
  • Corrective hand reconstruction - flap within soft tissues
